Pain in the neck!  Is not just a common idiom but in reality a very common and painful condition.  The other fact is it is being increasingly seen in otherwise healthy looking young individuals. The common causes are  muscle spasm ,  spondylosis  and  prolapsed intervertebral discs. Why is it commoner now? The probable reason would lie in the lifestyle and work profile of the people. People spend most of their time indoors without any exercise and sunlight exposure. lack of exercise makes the neck muscles weaker and lack of exposure to sunlight makes you deficient in vitamin D which makes the bones weaker, the end result, a weak neck. This weak neck is then abused day in and day out, sitting perched in front of a computer. This is the perfect recipe for neck pain. Brain Bleed - A blessing in disguise!

Image
22 year old working at an I.T Firm experienced severe headache and fell unconscious on a normal working day at her workplace. She was then admitted to a nearby hospital in the same unconscious state. After a primary diagnosis she was shifted to Well Known hospital for further management. A CT Scan was done upon admission which showed bleeding in the Left Parietal Region. an emergency cerebral angiography was done to detect the cause of the sudden bleed in an apparently normal young girl. Any bleeding inside the brain is complex but the AVM made it much more complex. The surgical procedure in such cases becomes extremely challenging. the other major challenge that doctors had to face in this case was that the bleeding was  in the...
